Materials

Each group needs

• one egg
• 20 straws
• Sellotape (a long strip, not a whole roll!)
• Natural materials
• a pair of scissors

Implementation

• The participants are divided into several groups of approx. 6 people each.
• Each group receives an egg, 20 straws, Sellotape and a pair of scissors. They may also use any natural materials they find outside.
• The task is to prepare the egg so that it can withstand a fall of at least 2 meters and not break.
• The groups have 30 minutes to plan and build their flying construction.
• After the time has elapsed, the endurance test follows. One player from each group drops the prepared egg from a certain height.
• The group whose egg withstands the fall and remains intact wins.
• If there is a tie between several groups, the drop height is increased and the eggs are dropped again until only one egg remains.
