There are many crimes in this world. In this program, your youth group will become the “Top Secret” intelligence agency. The children will be divided into different departments to receive specialized training for the agency. The mission: to rescue a kidnapped chemistry lab technician.

Have fun!!

Explanation

Top Secret is a program designed for five youth group afternoons. This program has proven very successful in our youth group because it spanned several afternoons. The kids would miss part of the story if they didn’t attend the afternoons, and they didn’t want that to happen.

It’s primarily intended for the youth group level. The youngest kids take it too seriously and get scared. For the teens, it’s fun but too unrealistic.

We gave the children an agent ID card. They were only allowed into the afternoon session if they had it. If a new child arrived, another child had to vouch for them—after all, they might be a spy.

It’s important to briefly explain at the start of each afternoon what happened the previous afternoon. That way, new kids—or those who missed a session—can follow the story.

The children are led to believe that the leaders are also working on the case during the week. After all, the leaders are trained secret agents and all work as full-time employees at Top Secret. Therefore, the secret service must never be discussed outside the meeting place. Everything must remain a secret.
