- Prizes to be won at the booths: promotional giveaways from banks, companies, etc.
- Play money (bottle caps or similar items also work well)

Preparation
- Obtain prizes (e.g., ask companies for promotional gifts)
- Plan the layout of the booths (you may also want to draw up a map for the participants)
- Set up the booths
- Set up the “bank” (this is where promissory notes are issued and loan offers are made)

How to Play
- Players walk through the market in pairs.
- Each player starts with a certain amount of money.
- The goal is for the players to have spent all their money by the end and, if possible, to have gone into debt. Therefore, players should be constantly encouraged to do something or make a purchase.
- At the game stations, players must bet a minimum amount. They may also bet more if they wish. If they win, they receive double their bet back. If they lose, the money stays at the station.
- Once players have lost all their money, they can take out a loan from the bank. They then receive an IOU noting the amount borrowed. Now they can spend their borrowed money however they please.
