Age: 6 years and over
number of participants: approx. 10–30
Materials required: a chair for each participant, a pack of Uno cards (or cards for another game – it’s important that they come in four colours)
How to play:
Remove all the black cards from the Uno deck (or any other card game) so that you are left with the following colours: green, yellow, red and blue.
Everyone sits in a circle; each player must remember which chair they are sitting on at the start of the game.
The game leader stands in the middle, shuffles the cards and deals them to each player in random order. Players memorise the colour of their card and hand it to the game leader.
The leader then shuffles the cards again, draws one card from the top and shows everyone its colour. The task for those who previously received the same colour is to move one seat to the right. If the next seat is taken, they sit on that person’s lap.
The leader draws another card and, once again, those with the matching colour move seats.
If the person whose colour has been drawn has someone sitting on their lap, they cannot move.
The winner is the first person to return to the chair they were sitting on at the start of the game, but only if they sit directly on it, rather than on someone’s lap.
