Knoten werden überall gebraucht wo man mit Seil und Schnur zu tun hat. Dieser Artikel gibt eine Übersicht und soll motivieren, die wichtigesten Konten auswendig zu können. Obwohl es hunderte von Knoten gibt, ist es nur notwendig etwa 10 zu beherschen um in 90% der Fälle einen geeigneten Knoten zur Hand zu haben.

How do you learn?

The easiest way to learn knots is through practice and repetition. The more often you tie a knot, the better you’ll remember it. If you practice it regularly (over several days or even weeks), the knot will stick in your memory even better.

Another way to reinforce your knowledge is to practice the knot under challenging conditions. For example, with your eyes closed, using only one hand, hopping on one leg, or behind your back.

One way to encourage knot practice is, for example, by handing out rope strands (rope with a diameter of about 4 mm). At a camp, for instance, you can distribute rope strands about 1.5 meters long to the participants. This allows everyone to practice knots whenever they want.
